Member Support Coordinator

Philly Friendship Circle serves Philadelphia, Montgomery, Chester and Delaware Counties and is founded by Chabad Lubavitch. We connect teens and young adults to youth with special needs through a full range of social offerings. Inspired by the power of genuine friendships, our youth cultivate understanding, kindness and responsibility while ensuring a caring and inclusive community.

Ideal candidates will possess strong communication and organizational skills with a desire to work in a fast-paced, small team environment with a high level of collaboration with the other staff members. Candidates must be self-motivated and able to work flexible hours as required to accommodate after school home visits as well as evening and Sunday events. Excellent writing and communication skills, an ability to pick up new skills quickly, trustworthiness, and a strong work ethic are essential.

The Member Support Coordinator will work directly with teens and their parents, as well as families who have children with special needs within the Jewish community. The youth that participate in our programs range in age from toddlers to young adults. Sensitivity to the special needs population and to all youth in general, ability to work and relate with teenagers, as well as dedication to the inclusive, upbeat and communal spirit of the organization are a must. Candidates should be comfortable doing home visits as well as representing Philly Friendship Circle to the public.

Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Supporting and developing relationships with current youth and their families, as well as recruiting new youth. Particular emphasis on engaging families & teens in our community who are needing more support and guiding new members through the intake process.
  • Working closely with other staff and behavioral support team to understand the unique strengths, challenges, and circumstances of each youth and their family and create customized strategies for accommodating and engaging them.
  • Supporting and mentoring youth as they develop relationships with one another.
  • Creating recruitment & retention strategy for all programs, in conjunction with COO & co-founders.
  • Addressing our varied populations while maintaining our mission, vision and core values.
  • Staying abreast of and develop relationships with organizations in the community that could benefit our youth & their families

Programming & Services

  • Active role running various activities/workshops at any given program in collaboration with programming staff.
  • Working closely with other staff and behavioral support team to ensure programs are accessible & inclusive for all attending, including researching & utilizing knowledge of best practices in inclusion to enhance or develop curriculum.
  • Serving as the liaison between our team of behavioral support specialists and professional staff.
  • Creating and supporting friendship matches for all programs, adjusting as needed based on feedback and observation. Particular emphasis on setting up and supporting pairs in our Friends@Home program.

Our office likely will be located in Western Philadelphia suburbs as of Sept 1 (currently located in South Philly) and our programs and home visits occur throughout Montgomery, Philadelphia, Chester and Delaware Counties. Must have access to a car on a consistent basis.

Salary Range: – $45,000 – $52,000


  • Bachelors in Special Education, Social Work, Psychology, Public Health or related fields required, Masters preferred.
  • 2-3 years lived or professional experience with individuals with special needs

Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Outlook, and G-Suite. Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus.
